In 1920, when our Grand-Uncle James Papageorge, first opened the doors - Chicago got a taste of the freshest, mouthwatering chocolates and ice cream in town. Located next to the Gayety Movie Theater in South Chicago, Gayety's Chocolates & Ice Cream was a favorite destination spot for sweet-toothed families and movie-goers alike.
The movie theater is long gone. However Gayety's Chocolates & Ice Cream continues to thrive. Three generations later, we're still hand-dipping our chocolates and making our ice cream fresh in the back of the store, just like Uncle Jim did. We use only the finest ingredients. Our ice cream is made with 18% butterfat and our chocolates are each made by hand. You can taste our company's near century old love affair with chocolates and ice cream.
All of our sundaes are served with pure whipped cream and nuts. Gayety's ice cream is made with 18% Butterfat for richer creamier taste.
